Video scaling is the process by which an input color image is converted to an output color image of a different size. Video scaling is used in a wide range of applications from broadcast, medical imaging and high-resolution video effects to video surveillance, and video conferencing. The Xilinx® Video Scaler LogiCORE™ IP provides a high-quality scaling solution for designs ranging from polyphase to linear interpolation for up and down scaling.
Key features are:
- Independently programmable scaling in both horizontal and vertical directions
- Configurable implementation supports bilinear, bicubic and polyphase scaling
- 2-12 taps in both horizontal and vertical domain
- 2-16, 32 and 64 phases
- Dynamically configurable filter coefficients
- Supports smooth real-time shrink/zoom including non-integer phase offsets
- Supports YC 4:2:2, YC 4:2:0, RGB/4:4:4
- Supports spatial resolutions from 32×32 up to 4096×4096
- Supports 1080P60 in all supported device families
- Supports 4kx2k @ 24 Hz in supported high performance devices
Documentation
The COTS version v4.0 is the baseline from which the DO-254 Video Scaler 1.00a comes from. Logicircuit applies the DO-254 lifecycle to this COTS version. As a result of this DO-254 process, the source code will be modified with the goal of achieving 100% code coverage, and the resulting code will be named DO-254 Video Scaler 1.00a. Below are links to the Zipcores Product Data for the version that was used as the basis, and the Logicircuit Data Sheet of the resulting DO-254 product.
